Mi verano 2016 / My summer 2016

Para empezar, quiero pedir disculpas por no haber escrito en un tiempo.

Estas vacaciones de verano han sido unas de la mejores vacaciones que he tenido.

Fuimos a Chateauneuf du Pape, Aviñón, Bandol, Marsella, Los Calanques, Carcassona, Barcelona, Orange y Bourges. Uff! 

Chateauneuf du Pape es un pueblito medieval donde se produce al parecer un vino adorado por los adultos llamado Chateuneuf du Pape.  Había un castillo "nuevo" para los papas que ahora son ruinas, por ese castillo es dado el nombre al pueblo.

A veinte minutos de Chateuneuf du Pape esta otro pueblo más grande llamado Aviñón. Es una pequeña ciudad rodeada por las murallas de un palacio llamado Palais des Papes donde vivieron los Papas mas o menos entre 1300 y 1400, todo comenzó por el rey Philippe le Bel (Felipe el bello).

Bandol

Nuestra siguiente parada fue en Bandol. Un lugar chiquito pero muy cool, tiene unas playas muy padres, y un centro con callecitas que suben y bajan,  muy impresionante. Las como de cuentos de hadas muy chistosas y la verdad es muy divertido visitarlo.

Marsella mucho viento

Marsella es una ciudad más grande y famosa tiene un museo con una estructura muy original como en forma de alga y a veces sopla un viento muy fuerte que viene del norte y que se llama mistral. Cuando yo fui me tocó que había un incendio en el bosque de una montaña muy cercana, todo olía a cenizas y una nube naranja cubría casi todo el pueblo.

Los Calanques, son unos huecos en las montañas donde se forman unas de las playas más bonitas que he visto (y unas de las mas frías sin duda...). fuimos a dos Calanques, una de las Calanques en cassis y una en Marsella. Para llegar a la de Marsella teníamos que escalar toda una montaña y luego bajarla otra vez.

Después fuimos a Carcassona donde visitamos un castillo muy grande que le facinó a mi papá pero la verdad a mi no me gusto tanto.

Llegamos a Barcelona. En mi opinion, es la ciudad que mas me gusto. visitamos muchas cosas entonces solo voy a decir las tres cosas que mas me gustaron. Pedrera, me gusto, las playas estan bien padres pero lo que mas me fascino de todo el viaje fue La Sagrada Familia, es una cosa fenomenal la luz de los vitrales reflejada en el techo, la estructura de el edificio, dos fachadas que ya casi son tres todo es un milagro, Gaudí de verdad embelleció Barcelona todo lo que hizo está muy impresionante. En la basílica llevan 100 años construyendo y creo que les faltan solo 10 más para terminarla. Vale mucho la pena conocerla!

al final pasamos por Orange y Bourges, la calificacion fue 8 y 7.

 Me gustan las vacaciones en Europa porque no solo te diviertes si no que también conoces lugares muy interesantes y con mucha historia. (Aunque debo decir que para playas, las de México son las mejores!)

To begin with, I want apologize for not writing in a while.

These summer holidays have been some of the best vacations I ever had

we went to Chateauneuf du Pape, Avignon, Bandol, Marseille The Calanques, Carcassone, Barcelona Orange and Bourges.

Chateauneuf du Pape is a medieval village where apparently a very adored by adults wine is produced. There was a "new" castle for the popes that is in ruins now. From this castle comes the name of the village.

Twenty minutes from Chateuneuf du Pape is a town called Avignon. Avignon is a town enclosed by the walls of a palace called Palais des Papes where the Popes lived more or less between 1300 and 1400, it all all started by King Philippe le Bel (Philip the beautiful).

The next village was called Bandol. Thisis another small but very cool town, it has some very nice beaches, its a village with many up and down hills and with a very impressive downtown, it has some very funny houses that look like they were from fairy tales, its a very fun town to visit.

Marseille is a larger and more famous city. It has a museum with a seaweed structure and a very strong wind called mistral. When I went, there was a fire in the woods of a nearby mountain, everything smelled ashes and an orange cloud covered almost the entire town.

The Calanques are some spaces between the mountains where some of the most beautiful beaches I've seen (and some of the coldest with no doubt ...) are formed. We went to two Calanques, one of the Calanques in Cassis and the other one is in Marseille. To reach the Marseille one, we had to climb a mountain and then go down again.

Then we went to Carcassona where we visited a very large castle that my dad loved but really I did not like it so much.

We arrived in Barcelona. In my opinion, it is the city that I liked the most. We visited many things but I'll just say the three things that I prefered. "La Pedrera" I liked, the beaches are good, but what I mostly liked above everything in the entire trip was "La Sagrada Familia", is a phenomenal chruch building, in light of the stained glasses reflected on the ceiling walls and floor, the structure of the building, two facades that are almost three, everything is a miracle there, very impressive! Gaudi really beautified Barcelona everything is so very awesome, thay have been building this church for 100 years and they thing they will finish in ten more.

At the end we went through Orange and Bourges, the rate was 8 and 7.

I like vacations in Europe because you not only get to have fun but also you know a lot of interesting and historical places.
(but the beaches are better in Mexico ;) )

Ayer en la tarde, estaba en la casa de un amigo cuando mi mamá le mando un mensaje a la mamá de mi amigo, otro amigo mas grande que yo me había invitado a ver el primer partido de la Euro Copa, su nombre es Max.

Estaba tan emocionado!!

Me recogió mi mamá a las seis y me llevo a su casa. Diez minutos después nos fuimos al metro donde tuve una de las aventuras mas horribles de toda mi vida. Primero el metro que iba hacia el "Stade de France" tenia un problema entonces tuvimos que tomar otra direccion. El metro de esta otra direccion esta lleno, nos bajamos 4 o 5 estaciones después. Esta vez si tomamos el metro que llevaba a el estadio pero estaba tan lleno que estábamos todos aplastados, las ventanas estaban empañadas y hacia un calor horrible. Cuando llegamos fue un alivio TOTAL.

ESTE SOY YO!!!

Caminando para entrar al estadio, la gente cantaba porras para Francia, seguidos de "la Marseillaise"(el himno nacional de Francia) y gritando "Allez les bleus!!!"(Vamos azules). Ya dentro, el ruido era impresionante, pero al mismo tiempo contagiaba gusto y emoción!

No hay mucho que decir sobre la ceremonia de inauguración, personalmente pienso que no fue una de las mejores. Al empezar el partido, Francia tuvo una gran ocasión de meter gol pero después regresaron bien los de Romania y hicieron que el primer tiempo se acabe en 0-0.

El segundo tiempo estuvo más interesante porque Giroud, un jugador de Francia metió un gol en el minuto 57, por mala suerte Francia le cedió un penal a Romania que les dió el 1 a 1.

cuando todos pensábamos que iba a haber en empate, llego Payet, de Francia y metió un golazo en el minuto 89, lo que les dio la victoria.

De verdad le tengo que decir gracias a Max y a su familia, muchas gracias !

The direction of the blog

Yesterday afternoon, I was at a friend's house when my mom sent a message to my friend's mother, an older friend had invited me to see the first match of the Euro Cup, his name is Max.

I was so excited !!

My mom picked me up at six and took me to Max's home. Ten minutes later we left by metro where I had one of the most horrible adventures of my life. First the metro that went to the "Stade de France" had a problem so we had to take another direction. The metro was a bit full on this other direction, we got out 4 or 5 stations later. This time we did take the metro leading to stadium but it was more than full, we were all crushed, the windows were fogged and there was a horrible heat. When we arrived it was a TOTAL relief.

Walking to the stadium, people sang cheers to France, followed by "la Marseillaise" (the national anthem of France) and shouting "Allez les bleus !!!" (lets go blues). Inside the stadium the noise was pretty impressive and the joy was contagious!

Not much to say about the opening ceremony, personally I think it was not one of the best ones. When the game started, France had a great occasion to score a goal but Romania came back and made the first half end in 0-0.

The second half was more interesting because Giroud, a player from France scored a goal on the  57th minute. Unluckily France soon gave Romania a penalty kick that gave them the 1-1.

when we all thought there would be a draw, Payet arrived and scored a super goal for France in the 89th minute, which gave them victory.

I am really thankful to Max and his family for this fantastic invite, thank you!

Lo cool de mi colonia / My neighborhood is cool

Esta semana me gustaría platicarles sobre la colonia donde vivo. Para empezar les cuento que no es una zona nada aburrida, esta llena de tiendas y de cosas que hacer.

Hay un Starbucks por si a alguien le da un antojo de café, o si no tiene cafetera, en fin queda muy a la mano. Tenemos 4 supers muy cerca así que si no encontramos algo en uno de los supers, ya sabemos que tenemos 3 opciones más donde buscar.

Saben que en Paris tener una panadería cerca es esencial para tener una vida cómoda y agradable, imagínense comer una baguette recién echa, calentita, en lo que ves a Nadal ganarle a Djokovic... mmm! Pues eso es posible en nuestra colonia, tenemos 3 muy cerca pero la mas cercana se llama "La Baguette Margot" y la mayoría de las veces vamos allí, ademas hay un señor que hace crepas y en primavera y verano saca una maquinita de helados deliciosos. A veces yo bajo y le hago el favor a mi mama de comprar el pan, y como le caigo bien a la señorita, a veces me regala un panecito extra.

Si camino un poco más al cruzar una callecita con semáforo, llego a la entrada de una calle llena de comercios y tienditas de todo, se llama"Rue de Commerce". Vamos muy seguido, a mi mamá y hermanas les encanta el shopping.

Mi escuela esta a 10 minutos caminado, lo cual es muy práctico y en algunas ocasiones ya me he regresado solo a mi casa. Aquí es muy normal, pues tengo amigos que caminan solos todos los días.

Tenemos un mall muy cerca que se llama "Beaugrenelle". De vez en cuando vamos y nos compramos un heladito o vamos al cine... 

Saben donde esta la mejor vista de la Torre Eiffel? Algunos dicen que en Trocadero, pero yo digo que en Champ de Mars, que nos queda a 15 minutos a pie y 10 en bici. 


Soy muy afortunado de tener una colonia tan cool!!!

This week I would like to talk about my neighborhood. First I have to tell you that it isn't boring at all. The street and around is full of shops and things to do.

There is a Starbucks in case someone wishes a coffee. 4 super markets very close so if we don't find something in one of the markets, well we know we have 3 more options where to look.

You know that in Paris having a bakery nearby is essential to have a comfortable life, imagine eating a baguette recently cooked while you see Nadal beating Djokovic, mmm! Well that is possible in our neighborhood, we have 3 bakeries very close but the nearest is called "La Baguette Margot" and most of the time we go there, and also there is a man who makes crepes and during spring and summer he takes out a little ice cream machine with delicious ice cream. Sometimes I go down to buy bread for my mom, and as the lady there likes me, sometimes gives me an extra bread.

If I walk a little more, I arrive to a very special street full of shops and small stores, its called "Rue de Commerce". We go very often, my mom loves to go shopping, well who doesn't?

 My school is 10 minutes walking, and this year I have walking home by myself sometimes, I know in Mexico this may sounds crazy but here is very common. Some of my friends walk every day by them selves.

We also leave close to a new mall called"Beaugrenelle". From time to time we go and we buy a little ice cream or go to the cinema there. 

And finally, Do you know where the best view of the Eiffel Tower is? Well, some may say that is Trocadero, but closer it is in Champ de Mars which is 15 minutes walking and 10 cycling from my home.



I feel very lucky to live in such a cool place!!!

Mont Saint Michel

Les voy a contar la historia de mi viaje al Mont Saint Michel.

Hicimos un largo viaje en coche como de 3 o 4 horas y cuando llegamos, vimos una montaña con un pico arriba rodeada de un lago sin agua. Como estaba medio lejos del estacionamiento, tomamos un camión para acercarnos. No se podían estacionar coches demasiado cerca por que el lago vacío que rodea el monte, esta muy cercano al mar y a cierta hora de la tarde, la marea sube muchísimo y rodea el cerro, esto es increíble 
porque se vuelve como un pueblito-monte-isla. Es por eso que no dejan que los turistas ni nadie se estacione cerca porque el agua que llega cada tarde y se llevaría los coches.

Recuerdan la caricatura de Mickey y los Mosqueteros? Pues en esa película se supone que Donald, Mickey y Goofy quieren ser mosqueteros del rey de Francia y para probar que son valientes, deben rescatar a la princesa (Minnie) que está encerrada en una torre... pues esa torre está basada en Mont Saint Michel.

Tuvimos que subir un montón de escaleras hasta llegar hasta arriba. Antes de llegar al monasterio que hay en lo más alto tomamos un descanso entrando a tienditas de souvenirs, lo más famoso de ahí son unas galletas de mantequilla de "La Mère Poulard" hay incluso un hotel y restaurante que se llaman así. 

Finalmente llegamos arriba en donde visitamos el monasterio y de bajada por fin comimos! recuerdo que tenía mucha hambre... y nos tomamos un hot dog tan grande que no me lo pude terminar. Se me olvidaba decir que una de mis tías preferidas estaba con nosotros, Analú, que nos echaba porras para no darnos por vencidos en la subida.

En ese mismo viaje, fuimos a Saint Malo. Un pueblito muy cerca de Saint Michel donde vimos cómo la playa era inmensa a las 5 de la tarde, como de 1 Km. Y durante la noche la marea subió (como ya les conté) y el mañana que despertamos no solo no había playa si no que el mar había crecido muchos metros, así que tienen ya muy bien construida una muralla para que no se inunde la ciudad.

I'm going to tell you the story when I went to Mont Saint Michel.

We did a long drive of almost 4 hours and when we arrived, we saw a mountain with a top surrounded by a lake without water. Since the parking was quite far away from the Mont Saint Michel, we had to take a bus to get closer. People could not park really close to the Mont because the empty lake surrounding the mountain is very close to the sea and at a certain time in the afternoon, the tide rises a lot and surrounds the hill, this is amazing because it becomes like a town-hill-island. That's why they do not let anybody park nearby because the water that comes every evening would take the cars.

Remember the cartoon of Mickey and the Musketeers? Well, it was in that movie where Mickey, Donald and Goofy wanted to be musketeers of the king of France and to prove that they were brave, they must rescue the princess (Minnie) who was locked in a tower ... that tower is inspired by Mont Saint Michel.

We had to climb a lot of stairs to reach the top. Before getting to the monastery we stopped to take a break on some souvenir shops, the most famous shop there, is "La Mère Poulard", they sell delicious butter biscuits and there is even a hotel and restaurant with its name.

Finally we got to the top of the hill where we visit a very old abbey, and on our way down, we finally ate! I remember that I was very hungry... and we had a hot dog so big that I couldn't finish it. I forgot to say that one of my favorite aunts was with us, Analú, who encouraged us to not give up on the rise.


On that same trip, we went also to Saint Malo. A town very close to Saint Michel where we saw how the beach was immense at 5 pm, as of 1 Km. And during night the tide came up (as I told you before) and next morning we woke up and saw how not only the beach was all gone, but also the sea had grown many meters, so they have already very well built a big wall so that the city is not flooded.

Viaje Aventura a Alemania / Last Germany Adventure

*Antes de escribir mi entrada, quiero aprovechar para darle las gracias a todos los que amablemente han dejado comentarios en las otras entradas. Me gusta mucho leer lo que opinan de lo que escribo, no dejen de comentar!

Como algunos ya saben y los que no, aquí les cuento, una de las grandes ventajas de vivir en Francia es que tenemos muchas vacaciones. Apenas tuvimos 2 semanas de primavera en las que tuvimos la oportunidad de pasar unos días con amigos en Alemania, en un pequeño pueblito que me recordó a Valle de Bravo porque tiene un lago y actividades muy entretenidas como paseos y excursiones a la montaña. 

La ciudad mas cercana se llamaba Trier que esta en la frontera con Luxemburgo pero nosotros estábamos en un pueblito que se llamaba Eifel, (si como la Torre Eiffel pero con una f). El primer día fuimos a un parque cuyo nombre era Eifel Park y era mitad zoológico mitad parque de atracciones, pero por mala suerte las atracciones no abrían hasta mayo. Vimos lobos, osos, pájaros raros y grandes, pericos, suricatas, perezosos y muchas cosas más.

Otra de nuestras aventuras fue ir a un bosque en una montaña muy verde y natural con insectitos y hojas volando. Lleva de nombre "La garganta del diablo" por la grieta gigantesca que se abre camino a través de la montaña. Una caminata de más de una hora pero vale bien la pena! 

También fuimos a los Go karts de Nürburgring súper padres, los coches estaban geniales e iban a más de 25 km/h y yo gané la carrera! Para los fans de carreras de coches y formula 1 deben conocer este lugar, es una de las pistas más antiguas, grandes y peligrosas de la formula 1, aunque ya no la . Al final de la carrera de go karts, nos dejaron entrar a los pits y nos explicaron cosas sobre lo que pasaba en esos primeros tiempos de las carreras. 

Además hicimos carne y salchichas asadas al carbón, volamos globos de Cantoya y visitamos ruinas romanas en la Ciudad de Trier...

Me la pase super bien estas vacaciones y lo mejor es que estuve con uno de mis mejores amigos, Kimi y toda su familia.

*Before the post, I'd like to thank all of you that read my blog and specially those to take time to leave me a comment, it means a lot to me and I love to read you back! 

As some of you already know, and those who don't, here I tell you, one of the great advantages of living in France is that we have many holidays. We just had 2 weeks of spring break, when we had the opportunity to spend a few days with friends in Germany. A small town that reminded me of Valle de Bravo because it has a lake and activities very entertaining as walks in the mountain, nature excursions...

The nearest town was called Trier which is on the border with Luxembourg but we were in a small town nearby named Eifel (yes, like the Eiffel Tower but with f). The first day we went to a park whose name was Eifel Park wich was half Zoo and half amusement park, but the attractions unlucky were not open until May. We saw wolves, bears, rare birds, parrots, meerkats, sloths and much more.

Another of our adventure was going to a forest in a very green and natural mountain flying little insects and leaves everywhere. It carries the name of the devil's gorge because of its gigantic crack opening that goes from one to the other side of the mountain. It was a long walk into the mountain forest but it well worth it!

We also went to the Karts in Nürburgring, they were great and the ones for kids ran faster than 25 km/h, the best part was that I won the race! For fans of car racing Formula 1 Grand Prix you should visit this place, is one of the oldest and largest tracks, also the most dangerous one. At the end of the go kart race, they let us in to the pits and explained things about what happened in those times. 

We also made a barbecue, with delicious meat and sausages, we flied Cantoya's baloons and visited Roman ruins!

I had the greatest of times on this holiday and the best of all, I was with one of my best friends, Kimi and his family.

Simulacros de Sismos México VS Lock Down Paris

A partir de los ataques terroristas que se han vivido en Paris, la escuela organiza "lock downs" (encierros) y simulacros de incendio. Me acuerdo que en Mexico se hacían simulacros de terremoto que te salías cuando sonaba la campana y te metías en el circulo que decía zona de seguridad.

En octubre hubo un lock down de 25 minutos. Los lock downs consisten en esconderse abajo de las mesas sin hacer ningún ruido y cerrar las puertas con llave. Esto se Hace para que si los terroristas entran a la escuela, que piensen que no hay nadie. Lo malo de estos simulacros, es que no se trata de protegernos de algo malo que pueda pasar en la naturaleza, si no de gente mala y loca que anda suelta por mundo. 

El viernes pasado también hubo uno y todo el mundo esperaba que fuera más largo que el anterior pero en realidad este solo duró 7 minutos.

Cuando estábamos debajo de nuestras mesas, podíamos sacar nuestros Rubik's o leer un libro y si teníamos un Ipad, lo sacábamos para jugar algo hasta que se acabara el "ensayo". 

Sinceramente no se que tan efectivo sea este ejercicio, y no creo que venga ningún terrorista a la escuela (eso espero!), pero creo que son ordenes del gobierno y esta bien que estén más preparados para estas situaciones.
Aquí en vez de simulacros de terremoto, como Paris no es una zona de sismos,  aquí practicamos qué hacer en caso de incendio, lo que consiste a que toda la escuela se salga a la calle y nos quedemos hasta que pare la alarma de incendio. Este año solo ha habido uno.

Since the terrorist attacks that happened in Paris last year, the school organizes "lock downs" (closures) and fire drills. I remember in Mexico having earthquake drills where you used go out to the school playground when the bell rang and go to the big circle that said "security zone".

 In October there was a lock down that lasted 25 minutes. On lock downs you are supposed to hide under the tables noiselessly and close the classroom's doors. So if terrorists enter school, they might think no one is inside the classrooms. 

The bad thing about these exercises is that we are not trying to protect ourselves from something bad that can happen in nature, but from meen and crazy people who is loosed upon the world.Last Friday we had another one and everyone expected it to be longer than the previous one but actually this only lasted 7 minutes.

When we were under our tables, we could get our Rubik's or read a book and if we had an Ipad, we took it out to play something until the rehearsal was over.

Honestly I don't know how effective is this exercise, and I do not think any terrorists will come to my school (I hope so!). But I think these are orders from the government and it's okay to be better prepared for these situations.

Here instead of earthquake drills, since Paris is not an seismic zone, we practice what to do in case of fire, the whole school gets out into the street and we stay until it stops the fire alarm. In this year there has been only one.
